Packoo (Pacu)

The pacu is an incredibly unique type of fish that is now regularly being farmed as a part of Guyana’s growing aquaculture industry. Native to South America, pacu is a type of freshwater fish that is part of the subfamily Serrasalminae, which also contains the silver dollar fish and the piranha. 

Pacu fish are known for being delicious! They're commonly sold in South American restaurants with side dishes of rice, lettuce, onions, and plantains.
